The following information is about Issue Date.
Issue Date Defined
The date a security is issued in your TreasuryDirect account. For savings bonds, this is the first day of the month in which the Treasury receives funds for the purchase of the security. For example, if you purchased a savings bond on July 10, the issue date would be July 1. For marketable securities, this is the actual date the security is issued in your account. This date is used for determining when the security is eligible for redemption (savings bonds), the accrual interest amount designated, and when it reaches maturity. The issue date is also used to determine the Original Issue Holding Period for marketable securities purchased in TreasuryDirect.
